Bassingbourn Snowsports Racing Team
Bassingbourn has an active Race Team, whose members meet to train on Tuesday evenings. They complete in the Eastern Region Ski region (ERSA) Summer League series, racing at other Dry Slopes across Eastern England. Our more experienced racers take part in National races across the UK and even in Europe. The Centre has an active Race Team which meets on Tuesday nights (18:00 to 20:00) to train. Often at Easter, the Team, along with Parents and other Club Members, go to "snow" and train in the mountains with both the Club Trainers and local Alpine Coaches to improve their racing skills
Often in August (yes, the Summer!!), the younger members of the Team go to the ERSA Race Camp on the Hintertux Glacier in Austria to train alongside National Teams and to experience a real training regime.....
Saturday night training will enable you to reach the standard required to comfortably compete in the ERSA Summer League races - and comprises a combination of slope exercises and pole work
From there, how far you go is up to you..... Bassingbourn provides the trainers, you provide the will to succeed!
The Centre has its own poles and timing equipment which are used as part of the training process.
Whereas Saturday night is open to all, the advanced session for the full Bassingbourn Race Squad is now held on Tuesday evenings (20:00 to 22:00) - and attendance at this is by Invitation ONLY. Only Racers who are currently racing, or will race, for Bassingbourn in at least the ERSA Summer League (and who reach a minimum standard of skiing suitable for racing) qualify for an Invitation.

Tuesday candidates should be aware that in order the take part in any race, under ERSA and ESC rules, they MUST be a current member of a registered Club. Given this national requirement, the Non-member rate would only apply for one session - after which the Non-Member would be expected to join BSC as a skiing member

Note that Non-members must contact the Bookings Secretary to book and pay in advance unless coming with (and travelling with) a Member. This is necessary to arrange delivery of a Car-Pass to allow access to the site. Members pay on the night.
Saturday Night Race Training
Starting from Saturday 13th October our Saturday evening race training session has returned. Starting at 6pm for 2 hours and aimed at both children and adult who are at the beginner end of racing but will not exclude those of you who are more advanced. If you can ski from the top of our slope in a snowplough or above please come along.
