Bassingbourn Snowsports Racing Team

The Centre has an active Race Team which meets on Monday nights (18:30 to 20:30) to train. It takes part in both the ERSA Summer League and the LSERSA Summer League, racing at other dry ski slopes across the South and East of England, and the artificial snow slopes of Hemel and Milton Keynes. ERSA is our first named region, LSERSA our second named region. We can race in both.

Any skier can come along and try out Monday night training. We are very relaxed and welcome inexperienced youngsters as well as more experienced skiers. Our youngest racers are just 5 years old and we don't like to say how old our oldest is, but he's over the retirement age!

We also have an 'introduction to race training' session every other Saturday after Junior Club. This is open to all members aswell as Junior Club, but does not take place during the summmer when Junior Club is over.

Sometimes in August (yes, the Summer!!), a few members of the Team go to Race Camp on the Hintertux Glacier in Austria to train alongside National Teams and to experience a real training regime...

Please be aware that in order the take part in any race, under SSE rules, you must be a current member of a registered Club. Given this national requirement, the Non-member rate would only apply for one session - after which the Non-Member would be expected to join BSC as a skiing member. For further details about joining please contact Sharon -

For any further details about Monday night racing in general or to join the racing emailing list please contact Jenny -

Race Calendar

  • Entry to ERSA races is via the race manager - simply email Jenny at least a few days before the closing date, and pay on the day. See the ERSA website for further details and rules.
  • ERSA on Facebook. Kept up to date with races and other stuff going on in the region.
  • To enter a LSERSA race you must download the entry form from the LSERSA Website and post it to the race secretary along with your entry fee. You can also send her an email. If the racer is age group 2000 or below you must get the race coaches signature for approval for entry. The LSERSA website is kept very up to date - well worth keeping an eye on.

Race Training continues on a Monday Night with Kirk and David.

Saturday introduction to race training with Euan is now finished for the summer.

ERSA Tallington

Sun 18th Jul 2010

One of the highlights of the Bassingbourn race season is the weekend of camping at Tallington. The skiing is almost an afterthought after the fun of camping, playing tennis and swimming in the Tallington Lakes pool.
